In this paper, I have conducted a critical review of central concepts related to my research, notably those of compositional system and compositional planning. I have emphasized an expansion of these concepts, refining their definitions for a more musical and intuitive application and I have introduced the archetypal paradigm as a broad category encompassing compositional systems and unexplored models. I also have highlighted two of these models: 1) the proto-rhizome, inspired by Deleuze's rhizome, with a structuralist perspective; and 2) the disordered compositional system, situated at a conceptual frontier, which is examined for challenging the deterministic or probabilistic essence of full compositional systems. Maintaining an open aesthetic spectrum, this study seeks to contribute to the theoretical and practical evolution of methodologies focusing on the application of formal processes to composition, promoting a deeper understanding and more fluid utilization of these concepts by composers.
